On the trail...

Ducks Unlimited Banquet

Nov 18, 2008

Tonight, Oct 22nd, Ducks Unlimited and Redwood Creek partnered up for a classy event at the Blue Mound Country Club to host their Sponsor dinner. This was a formal event that took all of their members out of the usually camo and waterfowl gear and put us into suits. It was a great event with a lot of support for the “Duck’s”. Over the course of the night, we talked about different ideas that DU can do (and also Redwood Creek) to help protect, preserve, and promote the great outdoors. How we did it immediately was to have a raffle and silent auction during dinner. A lot of money was raised by DU to support this cause. During dinner we were served a great meal that was also paired with Redwood Creek. We had our Chardonnay and Pinot Noir served to everyone and they were shocked on the quality that they tasted. Everyone was wondering where they could find it (if you are, check out our wine finder at ) so I helped them out by letting them know of a few outlets.

There were some fascinating conversations going on throughout the evening. The best one I was a part of was listening to a lady talk about her African adventure she just got back from. She was telling me about her hot air balloon ride over the safari and seeing all different types of big game from elephants, to lions, and more. She also was talking about her visits to small little villages across the area. It sounded like a truly amazing trip and hopefully I can do one of those soon!

Well, I am off the blaze the trails again! Remember that it is hunting seasons in most parts of the United States so if you go off on your own adventure, remember to be safe with whatever you’re doing. Talk to you soon!
