Cal here,

Funny how it's only mid-November, yet my last trip into town found me surrounded by holiday lights. Seems every year the stores bring out their trees and stockings sooner, and Thanksgiving gets the short straw.

Now there's something to be said about taking the time to enjoy watching the colors turn and nature make its great transition. That's why I've always taken kind of a shine to Thanksgiving. It gives me a chance to thank nature for all she gives. And she's certainly a giver.

So now I sit with the trees and watch autumn fall down around me, opening a bottle of full-bodied Redwood Creek Pinot Noir. Its red ripe cherry flavor and soft, smooth finish is sure to put anyone in a thankful mood.

Later perhaps I'll make my way through the leaves and back to the cabin, a crunch with every step. What's waiting for me there? Why, only the best pumpkin pie this side of Yosemite. I got the recipe off of redwoodcreek.com, and I'm sure it'll go nicely with this Pinot Noir. Of course, that's just this man's humble pie opinion. Try it for yourself.

And while you're at it, check out our holiday pack valid now through the end of December for $71.99 that includes 2 bottles of all of my personal favorites: Lodi Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and White Zinfandel .You'll receive a 25% discount and free ground shipping when you use this offer code: RWCTHANKS when you order from our online partner, The Barrel Room.

Oh, and don't forget to share your own favorite recipes and Thanksgiving memories. Winter will be here soon enough. But for now, I sure am thankful it's fall.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Cal Dennison
