Happy Halloween and Pumpkin Pie!

Oct 30, 2009

Happy Halloween Blaze the Trail Members! Why not indulge your sweet tooth this year and pair some Redwood Creek Wine with your favorite Halloween treats. Pumkin Pie is the perfect Fall dessert and would go perfectly with a bottle of RWC Chardonnay.

Checkout this yummy pumpkin pie recipe submitted by Blaze the Trail Member lyndavvillanueva. Remember to submit your own Favorite Fall Recipes and include a picture for the chance to be featured as the next Recipe of the Week!

Pumpkin Pie:
1 medium pumpkin
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups evaporated milk
4 eggs beaten
1 pie crust

Set the oven to 400 degrees. Clean pumpkin out. Cut sides into verticle strips and place on bookie sheet in the oven for about an hour. Take out and scape the skins. After you use a hand mixer and blend it until smooth. Change the oven temp to 425. Mix the other ingredients and put into pie crust (but make sure you bought the unbaked ones!) and bake for about 15 minutes. Then change the oven temp to 350 and bake some more for about 40 minutes. Take out and let cool :)

What are your favorite Halloween treats and RWC pairings?

Have a safe and fun Halloween.
Cheers!
