On the trail...

Introducing.....Corkordinates!

Nov 12, 2008

Hello from Redwood Creek!

We have two big announcements for you that we’re really excited about. We think it’ll inspire you to explore and have some fun.

The first is showing up very soon in every bottle of Redwood Creek wine. Printed on each cork, you’ll discover something new…Redwood Creek “Corkordinates.”

What’s that? Well, “Corkordinates” are hand-selected GPS coordinates that will lead you to some really amazing outdoor locations around the country.

Corkordinates will not be in every bottle until early 2009, but will begin to pop up on shelves in stores beginning this week. If your next bottle doesn’t have a Corkordinate, have no fear, here’s an exclusive sneak peek for you: try it out NOW by entering these Corkordinates:

34, 1, 11.28

119, 41, 3.89

You can enter them here.

What happens next? You’ll have to take the journey and find out for yourself. So check it out and tell me what you think, right here, below this blog post in the comments. (Bonus corks if you do!)

Corkordinates are the newest addition to our community site, which, by the way, we just finished renovating, can't you tell? What do you think?

If you’re a member of our Blaze the Trail community already, I'm sure you can see the difference. If you’ve never visited or joined, take a few moments to register and poke around the site - we're sure you'll discover some fun along the way.  Blaze the Trail is a great place to connect with other Redwood Creekers, receive free vintage posters, talk about your adventures, and check out our newest vintage of wines, especially my personal favorite: Pinot Noir.

So look for new “Corkordinates” bottles in store, and get ready to follow your corks to adventure!

See you on the trail soon,

Cal Dennison
Winemaker

I agree, sounds like a perfect escape! +100 corks

This is great! I especially love the hiking link that jumps us straight to the park's website. Ah, this hike followed by some tidal pool-chilled wine sounds like the perfect escape...

I love this idea!  My husband is a Land Surveyer, I can't wait to show him
this part of your site!  He is very familiar with cooridantes!
    Thanks

I really like the updated site and the Corkordinates, I doubt I make friends with the bear, but, I want to try and catch some of those fish in the ripplin' waters !

I love this, but have discovered with my first corkordinate that it is missing some numbers from the coordinates on the cork.

Yeah, I think I tried the same think you did, girlie_rider... I plugged in the GPS coordinates from RWC's existing "Adventure Tool" corks (Yosemite, Yellowstone & Point Sublime) and got the same screen you probably received: "Those may be coordinates, but they're not Corkordinates."

I'm anxiously keeping an eye out for the new corks that say "Coordordinates"!

Just a clarification for all of you who have existing coordinates on RWC Adventure Tool Corks- these are not corkordinates- these are a part of our Adventure Tool series of previous corks. The Corkordinate corks are marked "looking for adventure?" and have the web address, www.corkordinates.com

The GPS coordinates for Pt. Sublime, Half Dome and Old Faithful will not work :(

Corkordinates is fun and educational. First off, your web site is nicely done (like the fish jumping noises and the bear...). Second, we should all learn a little more about our wild places and it's nice to see you taking the initiative and linking up with nps.gov. Heading out to the islands off the coast of California sounds wonderful, hope to make the trip in the next few years.
