Cowell Ranch Vineyard

About
In our book, Cowell Ranch is about the finest 1,300 acres you can find. The land was created over the centuries by earth that was brought down from the Sierras by the Merced River, which runs smack dab through the middle of our vineyard. Today, the Merced irrigates our arbors with mineral-rich water that bubbles up from the base of Half Dome in Yosemite Valley and flows 80 miles downstream to us. All that rich, flavorful character is squeezed from each grape at Cowell Ranch and other vineyards to create Redwood Creek Wines. So next time you’re hiking up in the Sierra and come across a creek or spring, wish that water well. It might just be heading off to do some pretty noble work.

Wonderful place! I'm sure the mineral rich water greatly improves the taste of the wine from this vineyard.
Will have to check out the ranch on my next trip to visit my home state. The logistics of tracking down each adventure is a bit of a challenge to me, but very intrigueing. Especially the Pacific Ocean photo on one of the webpages. I'll let you know what I manage to uncover ...
I take this as an invite to visit! How many vineyards does Redwood Creek use?
I would absolutely love to visit someday.
california is just a beautiful state and with the great weather they have out there and the land that is there i would say the vineyards have to be great and someday i would love to visit one.
Absolutly Beautiful place !!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been to Yosemite, but don't know (except now by the co-ordinates), where Snelling is.
The next glass of Redwood Creek wine I drink, I'll think fondly of the picture (posted above) of where the grapes came from. Of course, by the third glass I probably won't remember anymore but hey, it's the initial thought that counts!
beautiful!!!
hope to visit soon... maybe 2010
Looks beautiful - however, being a flatlander originally from Minnesota (now North Idaho) I must say those almost look like really tall, anorexic dandelions – I know they’re not but what are they? Didn’t realize you were so close to Yosemite! What a wonderful place to be able to drive to for the day!
No rattlesnakes, dry caleche roads, or dusty sombreros here. We Texans envy our California winemaking brothers for their great weather and succulent fruit. We're still learning how to manage the horned lizzards and hairy armadillos that chase bugs in our vineyards. Maybe one day we'll get there.
The surroundings are beautiful puts some of the vineyards here in Oregon to shame all we know is up and down and up and down not much flat land around here. We do grow the best blueberry's around. Can't beat that California sunshine!
Thanks for all the awesome posters and I'm not even a wine drinker or consumer of any alcohol beverages. Excellent marketing.
I can't figure out if I enjoy the wine or the website and posters more, but they sure go together well! What a fine blending of earth, taste and technology.
I would love to visit someday. So beautiful........
I have been to California a few times but never been to Snelling. Would like to see it, it looks beautiful!!!!!!
I believe this is the land of the free and the home of the best wine ever .With out the help of nature and the hand of God this would not be possible.Hope to visit sometime in the future. Any one have any paper info on it? would love to read more about it and the land.Heaven on earth is all i can say..
I live here in Oregon and you would have to be blind to not see the beauty in this place. I think this is one of the most beautiful places on earth!
Gives credence to the grass is always greener. . .
Very Beautiful ...hope to visit in the new year of 2009...
Hope everyone has a Wonderful Christmas and New Year...
It is amazing to make the journey from Yosemite and follow the Merced River down to Cowell Ranch. An incredible place for sure.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all...Love the posters and the education in fine wine and beauty of our fine Country..Cyn

Thinking about moving here! :-) Beautiful.
I used to live in California. I really miss visiting all the beautiful vineyards. My parents would tour every year, and I would go with them. My parents are gone and I am really glad to find this sight. Brings back wonderful memories for me.
Looks like some of the vineyards in the Finger Lakes Region near my home in New York! Its really something on a nice summer drive through!
Wow! Wish I called this place home! I miss California! I will be returning in the Spring to visit grandchildren, I may request a hike and show up for a tour then! Your home and vinyard are lovely!
Happy New Year! Heavenly!
California is the only place to be!
for anything!!!
We visited this area for the first time June 2008 so the town and river names are familiar to me. Wish we had known about this wine label then.
what a great looking place. Hope that someday I can visit.

The next time I visit Cally, I will definitely go to the vineyard...
I have never been to this winery but its looks beautiful. We have been to Cal for winery tours. Next time we will be there
I live in Cleveland, GA, and am a newbie here. There are 5 vineyards/wineries within 20 miles of me, but none are as good as Redwood Creek, IMHO.
Not that far away, looks to be worth a visit this year.
Beautiful winery...your wines sound so good. I haven't had the pleasure of tasting one yet, but I will make a note to remember to do so!
Never been to California but it looks beautiful.Would love to see the vineyard.
Looks very inviting and peaceful.Vineyard are so very beautiful and a lot of hard work to keep them that way. So wine is an added bonus!
Kind of reminds me of the tranquility of the Ozarks
Looks amazing! I hope that I can visit on my next trip to California.
I so want to be in your area of California right now! I can't wait to go back - this time for at least 2 weeks - maybe in the fall!

have never been to California, but I sure would like to go someday
I do have several vineyards to choose from in Northwestern PA (where I live) but I'm sure they have nothing to compare with this one in California!
I've not been to California as an adult, but I sure would like to go someday!! What a beautiful vineyard!!
Looks very beautiful. I've drove through the Siera nevadas several times and next time i'm gonna make a point to visit the ranch. Donners Pass here I come!
My pups and I have driven to NV from MA several times. I think I will stop by to see this beautiful vineyard on my next drive west. I better buy more film :- )

I've never been to California, but looking forward to going in the near future
What a beautiful place.
Ahh, I can just feel the serenity wash over me, as I lean against the fence and enjoy the sunset. The chilled glass of my favorite Redwood Creek Merlot slowly washes away the tensions of the day, and I realize that, Yes, this is what it's all about.
Donna
Ahhhh, to be a grape!
absolutely beautiful!
Oh! To be a grape on the Cowell Ranch!.Now THAT would be an adventure!
mmmmmmmmmm oh to be there with all of the beautiful vineyards and the wonderful weather!
now this is a bailout anyone would love
At the ocean, Juan the Cabana boy keeps my frozen Margaritas frozen. I'm wondering... As the fragrant breeze from the vineyard gently sways my hammock... Who will keep my glass of Redwood Creek Wine chilled and filled???

absolutley gorgeous land!
I'll have to visit on my next trip out there!!
sounds lovely!
I love your vineyard and will visit when I'm in the area
Since I'm nowhere near California, I guess I'll just have to enjoy it vicariously, while I sip a cool Redwood Creek wine.
You have the perfect job!! Glad you have it!! Love that Redwood Creek!
Why aren't you here in Idaho
Redwood Creek reminds me of lush green landscapes, brilliant bright sunrises and long quiet lingering red sunsets. I've always considered Florida God's country, but Redwood Creek country is running a good second.nsbred
I think my last foster home was somewhere in the area I lived 15 miles east of Oakdale Ca. on a dairy farm not far from a Hersy plant.
A truly magical place...I cherish the memories to this day.
What a beautiful place to work, live, and enjoy your blessings! You are truley blessed there......love to visit sometime.
Not only does this wine taste full of wonderful, beautiful, sweet light flavors, but the water that seeps into it's roots comes from one of the most beautiful places on this earth. No wonder I feel in love with this vintage... it has all the character of being a true GIFT FROM THE GODS!!
